We were in downtown Hollywood to look for the Carpenters star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with the Carpenters fan group. As we were looking for the duo stars, we looked at the many names of famous people.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, a significant part of our cultural history, was initiated in 1953 by E.M. Stuart, a Hollywood Chamber of Commerce member. He proposed this unique idea in collaboration with the architect firm  Pereira and Luckman. Before the Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Hotel had stars with celebrities' names painted on the ceiling in the early years, marking the beginning of our fascination with the stars

The Walk of Fame, a testament to the diverse world of entertainment, was constructed between 1960 and 1961, with 1,558 stars in total. Over the years, it has welcomed a wide range of stars, from actors and directors to musicians like the Carpenters, and even fictional iconic characters. The first fictional character to be added to the Walk of Fame was Mickey Mouse in 1978, and one of the most beloved fictional characters, Shrek, also has a star.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame currently has 2,781 stars and counting as of this article. Typically, two stars are added to the Walk of Fame twice a week. Who knows how many more will be added in the next decade or so? Also, instead of leaving a really long list of stars for this article, I will leave a link below to the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s site if you want to look up your favorite celebrity.
