On my recent odyssey in California collecting weirdness, I somehow made my way to the artistic seaside town of Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach is known for many local fine dining and boutique stores. Many local artists also set up shop.  My mom and sister wanted to dine at Selanne Steak Tavern. I did not think much of the place until I got a story from our waiter, Mariano.

Marinao was an amiable waiter who not only gave great recommendations on orders but also gave us a juicy story about the restaurant. It was built as a private residence in 1934 and purchased by Hockey Hall of Famer Teemu Selanne and local businessman Kevin Pratt in 2013.  Before that, it was a French cuisine restaurant called French 75, opened in 1997 and closed in 2012.  Mariano told us of some unusual haunts. Sometimes, on the second floor, there would be instances of someone tripping or a weird feeling in the room. I was curious about this claim, so I tried digging up as much as possible on this place.

Although my online research did not yield any evidence of the restaurant being haunted, the possibility of it being an old, creaky house from the 1930s or a hidden haunting ground still lingers. However, I stand by my recommendation for a delightful dining experience at Selanne Steak Tavern. The food is fantastic and if you're lucky enough to have Mariano as your waiter, don't forget to show your appreciation with a generous tip. Thanks again Mariano.
